'Spring Into Action'-
Support for local Youth Sports Programs
TEAM WORK for the win....
Empowering children through physical activity, health, and teamwork. This cycle supports youth sports programs across Northern Nevada, ensuring that kids in all communities have access to athletic opportunities.
Whether it's providing equipment, covering registration fees, or funding scholarships for children who might otherwise be excluded from these life-changing activities, as part of our commitment to supporting our local youth, we are thrilled to be able to provide students/schools with the opportunity to purchase the much needed equipment that will not only boost their confidence but create a sense of pride & community amongst the student athletes. And as fellow sports enthusiasts, we understand the importance of having proper gear to enhance a players’ performance and keep them safe in the game.
We believe that sports are a powerful tool for building confidence, discipline, and social connections. This cycle of giving represents our commitment to our youths’ well-being and a belief in their abilities to excel in sports and beyond. We want them to succeed both on the playing field and in life. Every child deserves the chance to participate in sports and activities regardless of their financial background and we strive to continue our work in ensuring that happens.
We work directly with each school’s administration to find out what the individual needs are in their athletic departments and then rally support to make those 'wish lists' a reality by providing them with specific grants, in-kind donations and monetary support.

Our campaign and poker tournament this spring was very successful and raised enough money to be able to give back a total of $20,000 in funding to six different local programs for youth.
Including the athletic programs/departments of:

Clayton Middle School
-
Mendive Middle School

Big thanks to Richard Arndt and Jeff w/Gilbane Building Company for helping us out with the presentation and the amazing Katie Grace Foundation for adding some sweet treats for the kids.

Exciting news!! We have granted Mendive Middle School, in Sparks, NV, a gift in the amount of $2,000 to purchase new soccer uniforms and equipment!

The Nevada Kids Foundation is honored to have partnered with the City of Reno on their new pilot program, the Adaptive Cycling Center. The fist of its kind in Nevada and located at the Rosewood Nature Study Area in Reno, the center will offer a membership-based program that will allow persons with disabilities to access special adaptive bikes and jump directly on the trail, no bike transport needed.
‘The adaptive cycling center and the Grit Freedom Chair are part of the City of Reno's commitment to improving accessibility and promoting outdoor recreation for all. The City is proud to provide a space where people with disabilities can explore and enjoy the outdoors.’
We presented the amazing April Wolfe and Anthony Goulet, from the City of Reno, with a $1000 donation to help provide scholarships for youth memberships to the center. These two are the rock stars that have gotten this incredible program off the ground, making it a reality now for local families with children and/or adults with disabilities to be able to access a variety of adaptive bikes and ride together. And a big thank you to Coen for cruising by in his super cool adaptive bike to help us hold the check!
The grand opening will take place on Saturday May 6, 2023, from 9- 3:00pm at the Rosewood Nature Study Area at 6800 Pembroke Drive with FREE adaptive bike use, an adaptive bike rodeo hosted by Kiwanis Bikes, and cycling vendors.
